As a senior, you may be looking forward to the end of winter and the beginning of spring right around the corner. Whether you’re new to Kamloops, or have been living here all your life (or somewhere inbetween), here are our favourite 5 spring activities you can do in Kamloops, a list compiled by Kamloops’ premier senior community, The Residence at Orchards Walk.

1. Kamloops’ Riverside Park

Enjoy some fresh air at this beautiful park and beach right next to the renowned Thompson River. Taking a stroll in this park on a sunny day can give you the exercise you need and also may have been craving during the cold winter months. The openness of the park paired with the brighter days will be a mood booster for sure!

2. McLure Ferry in Kamloops

If you are feeling well, you can take a 10 minute ferry ride for some amazing views of the North Thompson River. This short ferry ride will show you beautiful spring colours. Bring a friend along!

3. Kamloops Farmers Market

The Kamloops Farmers Market supports local production of food and encourages making, baking, and growing food. This is perfect to try something new while supporting small and local vendors such as community artisans, home-based businesses and even enjoy some special music and other events. This is the perfect place for you to discover something you haven’t tried before.

4. Eaglepoint Golf Resort in Kamloops

Are you looking for more than just a stroll in the park? Did you miss playing sports such
as golfing due to the cold weather? This high-rated golf course even has Wednesdays dedicated to “Seniors Day” in case you need some social interaction or even some new friends.

5. Kamloops Thompson-Nicola Regional Library

Taking a trip to the library could be an enjoyable activity for you to partake in during the
springtime. You can expand your knowledge on spring topics such as gardening or even just borrow a few books to read outside while you’re enjoying the warmer weather.
